Pointe-du-Buisson, Musée québécois d’archéologie pursues a broad museum mission. It is a lively place of exchange, knowledge, and reference that advances scientific knowledge, particularly in archaeology. The team members are all united by their passion for their work. Join the team! Pointe-du-Buisson is looking for guides to lead its activities for the busy summer season.

Primary responsibilities

  • Communicate the site's theme to various clienteles using the Museum's activity scenarios;
  • Welcome visitors (school groups, day camps, groups, and the general public) in a personalized manner;
  • Encourage visitors to participate in activities;
  • Lead regular and specific activities on site;
  • Collaborate and participate in the realization of various cultural activities;
  • Prepare the necessary equipment for activities before use and store it in good condition after use;
  • Maintain and keep the facilities, equipment, and tools used for activities in good order;
  • Report any incidents that occur during activities;
  • Keep a record of equipment damage and the condition of the site and facilities;
  • Ensure the security of the collections, if applicable;
  • Ensure that the institution's rules and procedures are followed;
  • Perform any other related tasks related with the job.

Skills and Qualifications

The selected candidate will demonstrate communication skills, leadership, interpersonal skills, team spirit, creativity, and dynamism. Experience working with a youth clientele is an asset. A college diploma or be in the process of obtaining one is recommended. The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria for the Canada Summer Jobs program or Young Canada Works program.

Working Conditions

Regular working hours of 32.5 hours/week from May 1st to August 31st. Hourly rate of $17. Position requires working on weekends. Paid training before starting the job. Possibility of working after the summer season.
